Trellidor Global Conference & 50th Anniversary Event Decor – Sun City Resort
SA Event Decor had the honour of creating the event decor for Trellidor’s 50th Anniversary and Global Conference, a milestone celebration held from 13 to 16 September 2026 at Sun City Resort.Working closely with the Xcentric Events team, SA Event Decor was entrusted with transforming a traditional conference venue into an immersive Royal Kingdom experience that welcomed guests into a world of grand entrances, elegant banquet halls and castle-inspired surroundings.
From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was not just another corporate event. This was 50 years of history, of people, of a proudly South African brand that has become a household name. The Awards Evening was hosted in Sears Court 1 & 2 and carried the theme On the Shoulders of Giants, a tribute to everyone who built Trellidor into what it is today.The Royal Kingdom concept extended far beyond the dining area. Every space within the venue was carefully styled to maintain visual continuity using heraldic shields, royal banners, decorative lanterns, themed food stations, custom signage and coordinated décor. The result was a fully immersive environment where every detail contributed to the overall story.
The journey began at the entrance. SA Event Decor designed a blue carpet walkway that set the tone for the entire evening. Flanked by gold stanchions and soft blue ropes, with black plinths holding tall glass cylinders filled with water and floating candles, the entrance felt both luxurious and welcoming. At the base of each plinth, gold lanterns cast a warm glow. It was elegant, it was refined, and it immediately told guests they had arrived somewhere special.Projects like this demonstrate the value of strong collaboration between professional event organisers and experienced event styling specialists. Xcentric Events managed the overall event experience while SA Event Decor focused on delivering the complete visual transformation, ensuring every element worked together to create a cohesive and unforgettable atmosphere.
The focal point of the entrance was the custom timeline wall. Spanning decades from the 1970s to 2026, it told the full story of Trellidor. Photographs, milestones and memories were laid out in a seamless flow, allowing guests to pause, to read, to remember and to reflect on the journey. It was more than a backdrop. It was a conversation starter and a powerful reminder of how far the company has come.
Inside Sears Court, the decor direction shifted to create a formal gala dinner setting that honoured the scale of the occasion. For a room as large as Sears Court 1 & 2, the challenge is always to make it feel grand without losing its warmth. SA Event Decor achieved this through carefully balanced table styling, centrepiece design and overall room layout. The decor was designed to support the evening, not overpower it. To keep sightlines clear for the stage and awards, while still ensuring every table felt styled and every corner of the room felt considered.
Working at a venue like Sun City Resort requires an understanding of guest flow, of access, of how the dining areas connect to the stage and entertainment spaces. Every element was planned to bring these areas together into one cohesive environment, creating an awards evening that felt polished, professional and deeply celebratory.
