The founders of SA Event Decor, Amanda and Chris van Dalen, bring together a unique combination of incentive travel knowledge and corporate event design experience that few companies in South Africa can offer.
Amanda van Dalen spent more than ten years working within the outbound incentive travel industry, developing an extensive understanding of how world-class incentive programmes are planned, managed and delivered. Her experience extends far beyond travel logistics. She understands the psychology behind rewarding top performers, building anticipation, creating memorable guest journeys and ensuring every detail contributes to an unforgettable incentive experience.
Chris van Dalen has designed and executed hundreds of outbound incentive-themed events for corporate clients, incentive houses, destination management companies and leading event agencies. Premium venues in Sun City, Sandton, Cape Town and the Drakensberg were frequently selected by clients as the preferred locations for these destination reveal events, providing the perfect setting where qualifying delegates gathered to discover the international destination they had earned.
For many guests, the destination reveal became one of the most anticipated moments of the entire incentive programme. The décor played a vital role in creating that excitement. Before the destination was officially announced, the venue was transformed into an immersive environment inspired by the country, city or experience awaiting the delegates. Every decorative element became part of the story, creating visual clues, building anticipation and allowing guests to experience the atmosphere of their upcoming destination before they even boarded an aircraft.
Over the years Chris has recreated hundreds of destination-inspired experiences ranging from the bright lights of New York and the glamour of Hollywood to the romance of Venice, the elegance of Paris, the colours of Morocco, tropical island escapes, African safari experiences and many other iconic destinations across the world. Every theme was individually researched and carefully interpreted to ensure the décor felt authentic, immersive and believable.
