About This Project
Global Leadership Conference Event Decor
Inspired by Unity, Hope & Transformative Leadership
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation Global Leadership Forum, hosted at the Indaba Hotel, Spa & Conference Centre, Johannesburg, was far more than a conference. It was a purpose-driven gathering of visionary leaders from around the world, united by a shared commitment to creating a more equitable, inclusive and just future for children, families and communities.
The Foundation’s vision was to create an immersive experience where delegates could connect, collaborate and ultimately take meaningful action. Every aspect of the conference event decor and conference decor design was carefully developed to support this journey, transforming the venue into a space that encouraged reflection, learning, dialogue and global collaboration. Rather than simply decorating a conference venue, SA Event Decor created an environment that became an extension of the conference message and the delegates’ experience.
The conference was inspired by South Africa’s remarkable journey towards democracy and reconciliation, drawing significant inspiration from the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. His enduring values of respect, freedom, democracy, responsibility, reconciliation, diversity and equity became guiding principles throughout the conference, reminding delegates that courageous leadership, compassion and collective action have the power to transform societies.
Over the course of the forum, the conference environment evolved each day, mirroring the delegates’ own journey. The design transitioned from Connect, where leaders from diverse backgrounds came together to build relationships and gain a deeper understanding of shared global challenges, to Collaborate, where ideas, experiences and perspectives were exchanged to inspire innovative thinking and strengthen partnerships. The final transformation reflected Act, encouraging every delegate to leave with renewed hope, practical ideas and a personal commitment to creating positive change within their own communities.
One of the most distinctive design elements was the installation of vibrant coloured features that became a powerful visual expression of the Foundation’s message. The colours represented the richness and diversity of humanity, celebrating different cultures, backgrounds and perspectives from across the globe. Individually, each colour symbolised a unique identity, while collectively they demonstrated that our greatest strength lies in unity, shared humanity and collaboration. This installation reinforced the conference’s belief that lasting change is achieved when people work together across borders, cultures and communities to build a more equitable future.
Throughout the conference, every element of the event decor was carefully considered to reinforce the Foundation’s vision of transformative leadership, hope, healing and social justice. Inspired by South Africa’s history, its people and the legacy of Nelson Mandela, the conference environment encouraged delegates to reflect on the past, engage with the present and leave inspired to shape a better future through courage, collaboration and collective leadership.
For SA Event Decor, this project was about far more than designing a conference venue. It was about understanding the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s vision and translating its purpose into an immersive environment that evolved alongside the delegates’ journey. Every transition, every design detail and every visual element was carefully considered to reinforce the themes of connection, collaboration, hope and action. From the initial concept through to the final conference transformation, the conference event decor, conference decor design and carefully selected event decor hire elements worked together to create an atmosphere that inspired meaningful conversations, celebrated diversity and reflected the Foundation’s commitment to building a more just and equitable world.
