When Xcentric Events appointed SA Event Decor as their preferred themed event décor supplier, the objective was to transform the Kgotla venue at Indaba Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre into an immersive Royal Kingdom experience.

The event required more than individual decorative elements. The entire venue needed to feel connected, from the arrival area and main entrance through to the banquet hall, stage, dining tables, food stations and guest spaces. Working closely with Xcentric Events, SA Event Decor developed a cohesive styling concept that transformed the existing conference venue into a grand royal environment.

The design was built around a strong palette of royal-blue fabric, black draping, antique-gold detailing and natural timber. These colours and finishes created a rich foundation for the theme while maintaining the polished appearance required for a corporate event.

One of the most striking elements was the sweeping royal-blue ceiling draping installed throughout the venue. Combined with warm festoon lighting, the fabric introduced movement, scale and atmosphere overhead. Full black wall draping created a dramatic background and helped the blue and gold details stand out throughout the room.

Tall black wrought-iron candelabras, crystal black candelabras and candle-style lights were positioned along the banquet tables to create height, repetition and the atmosphere of a royal feast. The warm lighting softened the darker palette and created an elegant, welcoming environment as the event moved into the evening.

The arrival experience established the Royal Kingdom theme before guests entered the main venue. A castle-inspired entrance surround, heraldic shields, royal banners, lanterns, timber crates, ornate frames and custom welcome signage created a strong first impression and introduced the visual story of the event.

Inside the Kgotla venue, long natural timber harvest tables were styled with royal-blue runners, matching napkins, silver charger plates, glassware and tea-light candle holders. Black chair covers finished with gold tassel ties reinforced the colour palette and added a formal royal detail to the dining area.

The Royal Kingdom concept continued through to the food service areas. Curved designer buffet tables with gold bases were styled with timber risers, decorative crates, candelabras, themed banners and custom menu boards. This ensured the food stations became part of the overall event experience rather than appearing as separate service areas.

Heraldic crests, shields, decorative framed artwork, royal signage and story boards were placed throughout the venue to create continuity between the different spaces. Every decorative element was selected to support the same visual language and guide guests through one complete themed environment.
