Silver, Glass & Candlelight: Styling DIY DEPOT’s Gala at Sandton Convention Centre

SA Event Decor combined reflective finishes with transparent furniture to create a contemporary gala setting in the Bill Gallagher Room. Candlelight introduced warmth while preserving the venue’s architectural openness.

01 / The Brief

DIY DEPOT required a glamorous dining environment that remained modern and welcoming. The design balanced metallic impact with candlelight and restrained green accents.

02 / The Décor Execution

Silver sequined linens established the reflective foundation. Glass candle cylinders at varied heights surrounded compact green floral arrangements, with mirrored details extending the candlelight.

White napkins, polished cutlery and green tinted glassware completed the settings, introducing contrast within the silver palette.

03 / The Venue Dynamics

The room’s expansive proportions and full height windows informed the furniture selection. Clear acrylic chairs retained views through the dining area, while repeated table treatments connected the space visually.



Test reflective linens, mirrors and glass centrepieces under the final lighting conditions. Check for glare from seated positions and assess the room after sunset. Keep candle placement clear of fabrics and confirm the venue’s flame policy before installation.
