“Sugar and Spice” high tea setup by SA Event Decor, this past December.
Theme and Concept
The Sugar and Spice theme was designed to immerse guests in a luxurious, indulgent atmosphere that balanced festive richness with refined elegance. SA Event Decor curated every detail to ensure the event felt immersive, from the colour palette to the textures, finishes, and floral styling. The concept was not simply decorative—it was experiential, guiding guests through a visual and sensory journey that reflected the warmth and decadence of “sugar and spice.”
Colour Palette
The colour scheme was bold and distinctive: deep burgundy, dark purple, and rich green formed the foundation, accented with black and gold finishes. Burgundy roses and purple florals introduced drama and richness, green foliage added freshness and balance, while black chairs, vases, and tableware grounded the palette with sophistication. Gold cutlery and candlelight provided the final touch of luxury, ensuring the entire setting shimmered with opulence.
A long banquet table was styled with alternating burgundy and green runners, creating rhythm and visual contrast across the length of the setup. Black plates and neatly rolled napkins provided a sleek, modern base, while gold cutlery added a striking metallic highlight. The styling was deliberate: the dark tones created depth, the runners introduced vibrancy, and the metallic finishes elevated the overall look. The table was not only functional but a statement piece that embodied the Sugar and Spice theme.

Smaller matching floral pieces were placed between the larger centrepieces, ensuring continuity and balance across the table. The centrepieces were layered, textured, and immersive—designed to draw the eye upward while maintaining harmony with the table styling.
Flowers, Candles, and Finishes
The floral palette combined richness and romance: burgundy roses symbolized passion, purple blooms added depth, and green foliage provided freshness. Cascading grapes introduced a playful yet luxurious detail, tying directly into the Sugar and Spice concept. Candlelight from ornate holders reflected off glass and metallic finishes, creating warmth and sparkle. Cocktail and Networking Areas
The bar area in the background was styled with additional lighting, ensuring guests could transition seamlessly between dining and networking spaces. The décor extended into these areas, maintaining the same colour palette and finishes, so the theme was consistent throughout the venue. This demonstrated SA Event Decor’s expertise in creating environments where every zone feels connected to the overall concept.
Entrance
Guests entered a space defined by stone walls, wooden beams, and ornate chandeliers. The entrance was styled to immediately immerse them in the Sugar and Spice atmosphere, with lighting and décor elements reinforcing the theme before they reached the main table. The transition from entry to dining was deliberate, ensuring the guest journey felt natural and visually engaging.
Photo Area
The chandeliers, string lights, and styled banquet table created a natural photo backdrop. Guests could capture moments surrounded by dramatic floral arrangements, luxurious finishes, and atmospheric lighting. The photo opportunities were not staged separately but integrated into the décor, ensuring every angle of the event felt photogenic and memorable.
Stage
While the focus was on the banquet table, the stage area was styled with complementary finishes—lighting, draping, and floral accents—to ensure cohesion. This allowed speeches or entertainment to feel part of the same immersive environment rather than separate from the décor.
Furniture
Black chairs provided a sleek, modern contrast to the vibrant runners and floral arrangements. Their dark finish grounded the palette, while their clean lines ensured the décor felt contemporary. Lounge seating and bar stools in complementary tones extended the theme into networking areas, balancing practicality with elegance.
