The Brief

Old Mutual’s awards dinner at Sun City Resort, North West Province, South Africa, called for an atmosphere that celebrated achievement while reflecting the sophistication of a leading financial services brand. SA Event Decor brought this vision to life through a contemporary interpretation of African design, combining earthy tones, intricate patterns and organic foliage with sleek black table and chair covers. The challenge was to create a setting that felt distinctly African without leaning on traditional ornamentation, preserving the formality of a corporate awards evening while introducing warmth, texture and character. Every design element was carefully considered to create an elegant, cohesive dining experience.

The Décor & Execution

SA Event Decor transformed the awards dinner at Sun City Resort into a refined corporate setting inspired by contemporary African design. The tables were styled with sleek black table and chair covers, creating a sophisticated foundation for patterned African-inspired table runners. Wild leaf centrepieces introduced organic shapes and natural textures, softening the structured furniture while adding warmth to the dining space. The carefully coordinated earthy tones, foliage and patterns created visual interest without overwhelming the formal setting. Through thoughtful tablescape design and cohesive styling, SA Event Decor delivered an elegant awards dinner environment that celebrated Old Mutual’s achievements while incorporating distinctive African influences into a polished corporate experience.
