Gala Dinner | Black and Silver Long Tables

Black and silver (and/or white) remains one of the most clean cut, sophisticated and up-market gala dinner décor settings.  SA Event Décor's Long Table Gala Dinner scheme offers an exceptionally smart and uniform placing of décor elements, and is best suited to a longer main venue area.

Kindly also note that SA Event Décor would be happy to vary the décor described below, or to customise your gala dinner décor entirely, in consultation with you.

Pre Drinks Area

The cocktail tables will be covered in black stretch fabric, uplit from within by parcan lighting.  As an alternative, SA Event Décor can supply modern silver aluminium cocktail tables.
In the middle of each table, a suitable centre piece, which enhances the black and silver concept, will be placed, with the addition of rose petals or a touch of greenery to soften the effect and add a splash of colour.

A portion of the pre-drinks area may optionally be set aside for photographs to be taken. A suitable backdrop will be provided.  A full bar can also be placed in the pre-drinks area, should you so choose.

Entrance Area

A draped entrance or a tunnel to the main area can be created using black (and/or white) draping  fabrics, lit with draped fairy lights, to add silver sparkle.  A subtly beaded curtain can be added, and small white beaded trees enhance the twinkling entrance's elegance and provide depth to the guests' welcome.

Main Function Area

All the walls will be draped in long black, fire retardant treated material.  As an option, SA Event Décor can artfully arrange sections of white draping, pulled together into softly gathered curtains, tied with decorative  silver ropes and tassels.
Fairy lights draped across the middle section of the ceiling may optionally be included, drawing the focus to the long tables on either side of the venue.

Tables and Chairs

The main tables used are square, and arranged together forming a single long table down each longer wall of the venue.
The tables will be dressed in black table cloths, again giving the impression of two long single tables, seating guests facing each other on both the inner and outer sides of the tables, with floor space in the centre of the venue possible dance floor.

Upon the black table cloth, silver underplates will highlight each place setting, with folded black serviettes in silver serviette rings or detailed with silver ribbon, placed on each underplate.  Silver place cards are placed on each underplate, (the individual guests' names having been printed by the client, who will also have a seating plan).
Silver goblets accompany the venue's wine glasses.

Centre pieces will consist of a low, round, tightly bunched arrangements of rosebuds (red is suggested), and tall silver candelabras.  These two centre pieces alternate down the length of each long table.  All underplates, serviettes, goblets, glasses and centre pieces are placed in identical positions, as are the chairs.
All chairs will be dressed in black covers, and detailed with a silver organza sash (a rose threaded into the sash knot is an additional option).

There is beauty in symmetry.  When viewed down the length and width of the venue, the beauty of the uniform precision with which the tables have been set, is simply breathtaking, in addition to being at the cutting edge of elegant, up-market sophistication
