Gala Dinner | Black and Silver

This décor and colour scheme allows you to choose whether you wish to have all dining tables dressed identically, or in varying combinations of black and silver, giving you a repeat of  2 different tables in a most strikingly elegant and sophisticated setting.

Kindly also note that SA Event Décor would be happy to vary the décor described below, or to customise your gala dinner décor entirely, in consultation with you.

Pre Drinks Area

The cocktail tables will be covered in black stretch fabric, uplit from within by parcan lighting.  As an alternative, SA Event Décor can supply modern silver aluminium cocktail tables.
In the middle of each table, a suitable centre piece, which enhances the black and silver concept, will be placed, with the addition of rose petals or a touch of greenery to soften the effect and add a splash of colour.

A portion of the pre-drinks area may optionally be set aside for photographs to be taken. A suitable backdrop will be provided.  A full bar can also be placed in the pre-drinks area, should you so choose.

Entrance Area

A draped entrance or a tunnel to the main area can be created using black and white draping  fabrics, uplit from within, or with draped fairy lights to add silver sparkle.  A subtly beaded curtain and small white beaded trees enhance the twinkling entrance's elegance and provide depth to the guests' welcome.

Main Function Area

All the walls will be draped in long black, fire retardant treated material.  In front of this draping, SA Event Décor will artfully arrange sections of white draping, pulled together
into softly gathered curtains, tied with decorative  silver ropes and tassels.
Fairy lights draped across the ceiling may optionally be included.

Tables and Chairs
The main tables will be dressed in 2 different base taffeta colours – black and silver.  This contrast ensures a striking stylish and elegant setting.
Centre pieces will be anchored with artfully crumpled organza in the colour which contrasts with the table cloth – black on silver or silver on black.
Silver underplates highlight each place setting, with folded black serviettes in silver serviette rings, or detailed with ribbon, placed upon each underplate.  Silver table number stands, with inserts to be printed by the client, will be placed on each table.  Silver goblets accompany the venue's wine glasses.

All chairs will be dressed in black covers, and detailed with a silver organza sash and a rose threaded into the sash knot.

Centre Pieces
SA Event Décor utilises 2 different centre piece arrangements for the 2 different table settings, which stylishly compliment one another – we have a variety from which to choose, some of which appear below.

A round mirror is placed in the centre of the table, upon the crumpled organza fabric, as a base.  Additional elements enhance and soften the effect of the sophisticated colours and reflect silver twinkling light.

1  Upon the mirror, we place a glass Alida vase, filled with roses having their buds tightly arranged, and a scattering of rose petals and crystal beads around the base.  T- light candles in glass holders provide gentle light, which reflects off all the other glass and silver elements.

2  A 1.2 metre glass candelabra with hanging crystals is placed on the mirror, again with rose petals and beads scattered around the base, and T- light candles.

3  A tall crystal vase, with rosebuds of varying lengths suspended upside down in the body of the vase, which is placed upon the centre mirror, with a scattering of petals and beads, and T-lights.

4  A jewelled white beaded willow twig can be incorporated in the centre piece, creating stunning, sparkling height, without being intrusive to seated guests.

Mosaic mirror vases can also be used most effectively.
